About the Department

Banipur Mahila Mahavidyalaya was established in the year of 1999 and the Department of Physical Education has been set up in 2000 as an elective subject of three years general courses. At present the department has one Substantive Teacher and three State Aided College Teachers. The department provides text books, reference books which are available in the library for better learning and understanding. This subject is immensely popular among students for its practical based curriculum and its scopes in various professions. Also, our students came from different socio-economic environment where they faced various strict restrictions or difficulties just for being a girl. The subject provides opportunities for every student to express their thoughts and ideas in various activities like Band-Marching, Aerobics, Calisthenics, Yoga, Taekwondo, Playing games and sports, Intramural and Extramural Competitions, Workshops, Seminars etc.
The Department of Physical Education develops physical fitness and mental firmness of the students through various co-curricular activities, also focuses on leadership qualities and mass participation in any activity. It provides ample of opportunities and scopes for individual to lead their lives happily and to serve best for the society.
