The Department of Bengali was introduced General Course in 1999 under University of Calcutta. Presently,the Department offers General & Honours courses under affiliation of the West Bengal State University.

The Department has 2 Full time teachers & 4 State Aided College Teachers.

The vision of the department endeavors to generate new knowledge and produce students who are trained in literary studies specifically in Bengali language along with interdisciplinary connections with other language and disciplines of this Institution. The Department of Bengali strives to pursue academic excellence in Teaching-Learning process, Research and Extension. The faculty members of the department are always enthusiastic to carry out intensive academic discussion in various areas of language & Literature. Eminent teachers and educationists from various fields regularly share their knowledge and skill with our students as a Resource Person.
